FIBER SHAPES USED IN ARTIFICIAL GRASS

FIBER SHAPES USED IN ARTIFICIAL GRASS

In today's blog we have a very interesting topic and these are the different shapes of fibers used in artificial turf.

In previous topics we had mentioned what is an artificial grass fiber made of, also we mentioned that is the result of the polymer, and the types of fiber could be polypropylene (most recently used), polyethylene and polyamide; But there are many shapes in artificial turf whichdetermine the best technology depending on its use and application.

The shape of the fiber shows us how the fiber is folded, when it is not flat. This directly influences the fiber's resistance when bending. The shape of the fiber and the number of stitches are the most important parameters to determine how much the memory effect affects.

The shapes in artificial turf can be flat, central nerve, D, concave.

The flat form, is more used in the types of turf for paddle, tennis and multisport, offers a pleasant and soft touch.

Central nerve or our Spine, has an extra resistance and easy return to the vertical position; is used in high fibers ideal for soccer, the central nerve in the high fibers constitutes a greater amount of product in the central zone of the fiber, this makes the resistance to the tread higher.

Form D or our Diamond, used in our football products, this fiber is one of the most innovative, gives a vigorous appearance very similar to natural as well as vertical return is very effective and improves the performance of the football game.

Form Concave or C, Used in football turf products, gives greater realism and ability to recover verticality.

In addition to the aforementioned, there are other types of shapes such as V, W.

  7. With heavy clay soils we recommend laying a crushed stone surface of up to 3 inches. This will not be necessary for the majority of areas and only required if you have a high water table where the ground holds water for a long period of time after it rains. artificial grass wigan
